Creosote – Guest Bar

Creosote – Guest Bar

Creosote is the unmistakable scent of desert rain. Earthy, grounding, and deeply nostalgic to those who know it. We infuse each bar with Larrea tridentata, also known as the creosote bush, a resilient plant native to the Sonoran Desert and rich in history and herbal tradition.

The result is a gently cleansing bar with a subtle, natural aroma that evokes wide-open landscapes and storm-washed skies. Compact and giftable, this guest-size bar is ideal for travel or tucking into a guest bathroom.

Infused with Creosote • Small-sized bar • Small batch. Big desert energy.

Desert Icon

Creosote is a scent that sears itself in memory with the anticipation of electrified skies, churning winds, and a sudden rush of rain. Before the storm, the desert hums. The wind shifts and the air carries that unmistakable green, resinous scent of the creosote bush. When the rain comes, ozone, earth, and water mingle into something so deeply tied to the desert that those who know it feel it in their bones. Wild-harvested by our own hands from the Arizona Sonoran Desert, the creosote is infused into each candle, preserving the soul of the monsoon.

Ahhhhhhh…..the desert after a rain!

Gave the small bars of creosote soap to a group of Docents at The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.. A reminder of that wonderful “after-the-rain” smell in the desert!

The Scent Of Nature

After a thorough rain, the air is filled with any number of natural scents from the smell of wet stones to the captivating and alluring creosote bush. When I first moved to Tucson, it rained the same month. I recall this heavenly aroma wafting through the air and it became imprinted within me. Whenever I catch the scent, I immediately have a feeling well-being.

The Creosote Soap

I love this soap. Being an AZ native of 50+ years, it just brings me right back to the desert after a summer rain and the smell of creosote in the air. This soap has also been a gift for my sister, who lives on the other side of the world for work, and helps in the times she is yearning for home.

From a Volcano to Death Valley to the Irish Country side. Bisbee is where to look.

I have used Lava, Twenty mule team Borax. Then I was told I need to smell like the Irish spring country side. It was ok but, it was soap. No satisfaction, no good feelings no calming effect. It was a necessity that I never gave much thought to. We travel a lot so our soap supply menu consisted of courtesy soap mini bars (That's the only mini bar I can afford) branded with Hotel Chain logos or flowery boutique names to imply quality. That was a lot like getting gas station sushi.
My wife and I love Bisbee, But the pandemic kept us home. I ordered a few mini bars (Bigger than you think) from the Bisbee Soap & Sundry to surprise her. It was supposed to be almost like visiting our favorite spot.
I was more surprised than she was! It was like I had never used soap before. This soap lathers well, smells terriffic and is so refreshing. It leaves me feeling clean and it calms me. (I don't think that's an actual benefit of the soap and your results may vary) Simply put: When I use this soap I feel GOOD. Go figure. Thanks Bisbee Soap and Sundry. You are my new source for soap. (Sorry Best Western). So did you hear the one; Two Bars walk into a soap store...................

Smells Like Home

I picked up a few different mini soaps while visiting from Florida and while they were all amazing, this was my favorite scent. Since moving to Florida, I have missed the smell of the monsoon in the deserts of southern Arizona and this brings all the comforts of home back to me. I can't wait to try the candle!
