About Us

We believe in slowing down, in turning daily rituals into something worth savoring–in banishing the mundane. That’s why our soaps, candles, and sundries are crafted with intention—small luxuries designed to transform the everyday into something meaningful.

The world moves fast. Too fast. Somewhere along the way, we lost our connection—to the things we use, the way they’re made, and the people who make them. We traded craftsmanship for convenience, patience for instant gratification. The daily rituals that once connected us to ourselves and the world around us have become chores—tasks to check off a list.

But there’s something sacred about using an item made by another's hand.

A Place Where Craft Still Matters

Not long ago, people knew where their dairy came from, who crafted their shoes, who made their soap and candles. Communities were built on craft, on connection, on knowing the hands behind the things we use every day.

That way of life has faded, but its spirit still lingers in places that refuse to be ordinary.

Mule Pass Tunnel - Bisbee, Arizona
Mule Pass Tunnel, Bisbee, AZ. AKA The Time Tunnel

They say when you pass through the tunnel into Bisbee, you step back in time—and in some ways, it’s true. Craft still matters. Slowness isn’t a flaw—it’s a virtue. Here, people still know their beekeeper, their coffee roaster, their hat maker. And you know your soap maker. Well, as much as one can know the introvert who sneaks in and out the backdoor.

A Story That Started on a Whim

I’m Amber. If you’ve used our soap, it was made by my two hands. I was born in Bisbee, moved away as a child, and found my way back. I identify as an artist, although I practice the habit infrequently.

I’m an avid reader, a deeply curious creature. I love color, texture, and things that make me feel. I have an insatiable need to own old things—objects caked in rust, rich with patina, heavy with story. Things that, if given the chance, could tell a long, winding tale.

This business began on a whim—a big idea that tumbled out of my mouth before I had time to second-guess it. I had no business plan, no real experience making soap, no clue what I was getting into. But it felt right. So I leapt.

The journey began with my former husband and me, chasing that half-formed idea and a gut feeling that wouldn’t let go. We built something from nothing, learning as we went. Over time, life changed, as it always does. People grow, paths diverge, and now this journey is mine to carry forward.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant: my belief that self-care should be a ritual, not a routine.

More Than Just Soap

There’s a reason I believe in taking time, in honoring the process. It’s not just about tradition—it’s about intention. Life is richer when we pause long enough to experience it.

The simplest moments—lathering a bar of soap, lighting a candle, breathing in something beautifully made—become small acts of defiance against the fast, the thoughtless, the uninspired.

That’s why Bisbee Soap & Sundry exists. Not just to make things, but to create moments—sensory experiences that reconnect you to something deeper.
