Instructions
Our candle refills are created to refill candle jars purchased from Bisbee Soap and Sundry. We are not responsible for the performance or safety if refilling a vessel other than one purchased from us.
Instructions:
1. Start with an empty candle jar that has been cleaned and dried.
2. Remove lid from refill container, and remove the envelope from inside.
3. Remove contents from envelope and place the warning label on the underside of the jar.
4. Remove backing from the sticker on the wick.
5. Carefully stick the wick down in your jar. Make sure it’s centered! You can press it into place with a pencil or butter knife or another pointy instrument of your choice.
6. Melt the wax in the microwavable container it came in. 2 minutes seems to be the magic number. Microwave for 1 minute, stir gently, then microwave for 1 more minute and stir again. If the wax is still not melted, microwave for 30 seconds at a time.
-or-
The wax tends to shrink away from the container it comes it. You can slide the wax out of this container and transfer it to another microwave safe container of your choice. Follow microwaving instructions above.
7. Stir melted wax thoroughly then gently pour melted wax into your jar. Container may be hot--be careful!
8. Clip the clothespin onto the wick so that the wick is centered, and the clothespin is resting on top of the jar. You want a little bit of tension so the wick doesn’t float around.
9. Allow the wax to cool and harden.
10. Once the wax is completely cool (the jar should be cool to the touch), remove the clothespin and trim the wick with scissors or nail clippers to 1/8” - 1/4”. For best results, your candle should cure for 24 - 48 hours before lighting.
